Hungarian PM Viktor Orban has spoken again about his closer relationship with the leader of Romania's governing Social Democrats, Liviu Dragnea. Asked by Radio Kossuth what progress has been made in the case of a high school for ethnic Hungarians in the Romanian city of Targu Mures, Orban said: "We have advanced a little in Romania because we have managed to build a personal relationship with the president of the ruling party, and that seems to offer hope for the future."

"I am not sure what words to use. We should be meeting two or three times, seriously discussing some Romanian-Hungarian issues, and after that I will be more sure about the words I will use. But I think I can build something with the president of the ruling party there (in Romania)," the Hungarian PM said in an interview with Radio Kossuth on October 6th.

Orban also said one week after his visit to the Romanian city of Cluj that he created a "promising personal relationship" with PSD leader Liviu Dragnea during discussions on closing the high school attended by Hungarians in Targu Mures.

Hungary stated that it would not support Romania's accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) until this issue is resolved, decision revoked after the promise of Liviu Dragnea that measures will be taken, says MTI news agency. "We would like to form such relations among our ruling parties, regardless of ideological differences," Orban noted.
